Privacy Policy — Greenhaul
This is the Privacy Policy for the Greenhaul mobile app (also listed as GreenHaul Customer; Android package com.greenhaul.app) and the Greenhaul customer web app at haulingsmart.com/customer/.
Greenhaul is operated by HaulingSmart (also written Hauling Smart). The App Store / Google Play developer account may appear as HaulingSmart or James Gonser. Greenhaul is a product brand of HaulingSmart, not a separate company.
The same customer-app software is also offered under other hauler brands (for example Curbside). If those apps link to this page, this policy applies to them too. The App is provided on behalf of participating waste haulers. Your hauler’s own terms and privacy practices may also apply to service and billing.
How to request deletion of your data
Greenhaul does not create an app login or account. You can still ask us to delete App-stored data associated with you.
Email privacy@haulingsmart.com with the subject Greenhaul data deletion. Include your service address and, if you know it, whether you used iPhone or Android. We will delete or de-identify App-stored address, push-token, service-request, and assistant records tied to that address or device within 30 days, except data we must keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons (we will tell you if that applies).
In the App you can also clear or change your service address and turn off notifications in system settings, which stops new reminder tokens from being stored.
Information we collect
- Service address. The street address you enter so we can show your pickup schedule and related service information.
- Geocoded coordinates. We look up approximate latitude and longitude from the address you typed (via our geocoding provider, Mapbox). We do not use the phone’s GPS or native location APIs.
- Name, email, and phone number — only if you type them into a service-request form or a message to the assistant.
- Device push token (device identifier). If you enable reminders, we store an Apple (APNs) or Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) push token so we can send pickup notifications to your device.
- Service requests and assistant messages. Form submissions (for example missed pickup or bin requests) and text you send to the in-app assistant (Curby / Sorty), including any first name or referral code you choose to use.
- Microphone audio (Talk mode only). If you choose Talk with the assistant, your device microphone is used for that session so you can speak with Curby / Sorty. Audio and limited session context (such as your address and next pickup) are processed by our voice vendor (LiveAvatar) solely to power the live conversation. Audio is not used to train advertising profiles.
- App activity and technical diagnostics. Limited feature-use and error data needed to operate, secure, and improve the App (for example error logs and assistant conversation turns).
Information we do not collect in the App
- We do not require you to create an App login or password.
- We do not collect precise GPS from the native device location APIs.
- We do not sell your personal information. “Sell” means transferring personal data to a third party for money.
- Payment card details are not collected inside the App. Bill pay opens in a secure system browser to your hauler’s payment provider. That provider’s privacy policy applies to payment data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
How we use information
- Show your next pickup, calendar, and service options for your address.
- Send optional pickup reminder notifications you request.
- Route service requests to your hauler’s operations team.
- Power the customer assistant (text and, if you enable it, voice Talk).
- Attribute a referral if you choose to use a referral code.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot the App.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to provide Greenhaul:
- Your waste hauler — schedule, address, and service-request content related to your account or service area.
- Mapbox — the address string you enter, so we can geocode it for schedule lookup.
- Push notification providers — Apple Push Notification service and, on Android, Firebase Cloud Messaging (device token and notification payload).
- Bill pay provider — when you open bill pay, you leave the App UI and interact directly with your hauler’s payment portal in a system browser.
- Voice assistant processor (LiveAvatar) — when Talk mode is on, audio and session context needed for the conversation, solely to deliver that feature.
- Service providers — hosting, email/SMS, and similar processors under contracts that limit use to providing services to us.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect users, haulers, or the App.
Retention and deletion
We keep address and push subscription data while reminders remain enabled or as needed to provide service. We may remove inactive push tokens. Assistant and request records are retained for a limited operational period, then deleted or aggregated. See How to request deletion of your data above to ask us to remove App-stored records sooner.
Your choices
- You may use Greenhaul without enabling push reminders or Talk mode.
- You can deny or revoke microphone permission in system settings; Text mode remains available.
- You can clear or change the service address in the App.
- For account, billing, or hauler-specific privacy requests, contact your waste company. For App-platform questions or deletion, email privacy@haulingsmart.com.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the data we process, including HTTPS (modern TLS) in transit. Data we store is kept on access-controlled servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
Greenhaul is intended for adults arranging residential waste service. It is not directed to children under 13.
International users
The App is designed for customers in the United States. Data is processed in the United States.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
